Miata engine swap
a 302 miata runs 12.60 with a bolt ons 302, that wouldent be nearly enuf for me.
theres a company selling compleat bolt in kits for the lsx motors. all u need is motor tranny ecu and harness.
kit includes front k member, steering shaft, custom headers for the lsx, drive shaft, tranny cross member, rear subframe with a ford 8.8 irs rear, subframe conectors so it dosnt buckle under a 200hp gain.
i think they want 3500 for the kit. add 3000 for a ls1 with tranny 200 for the painless wiring harnnes and about 150 for an ecu. 6850 bucks and with a good driver the car will do 11.60s the great thing about lsx motors is they hold tons of power on stock internals so u can by a 350 dollar cam, shave the heads down and make near 400 hit it with a 150 shot and u got a nasty roll car.

I've got a 1994 Miata R package 1.8l 400Hp fully built motor pistons, rods, bearings etc with Turbonetics T3 w/ .60 trim wheel, 6 speed manual from a 2004,rebuilt rear end, ECU flyin' miata program. Falken Azenis on 16" rims, brakes are from a 99 model with carbon tech brakes pads, bilstein suspension w/ coil overs. hard dog hardcore rollbar keeps it rigid with little no no body flex. and the powers being held by a flyin' miata clutch and flywheel. not to mention that I'm getting near 30mpg and even closer to 40mpg while running toluene. running a water to air intercooler and its keeping the car cool at 90 degrees Celsius.
now tell me why you would want to swap a perfectly good motor?
