Another new dsmer
Finally bought a car after more than 4 months just sitting here on my ass posting on webboards and searching for a car. Red 1992 Plymouth Laser RS AWD. Supposedly has 75000 miles, CARFAX doesn't disagree but the guy I bought it from was a little on the shady side.

This is the only pic I have of it now, I haven't had a chance to break out the little-used digi and charge up the batteries and all. It had a few mods on it when I bought it, readily apparent were k&n/no air cone, boost controller, boost gauge (vdo
), and exhaust of unknown size/cat status/downpipe status. The boost controller seems to be cranked all the way down because boost is reading stock or even below stock (hard to tell on untrustworthy gauge). It's actually at our mechanic's right now getting a variety of stuff done. I know- real dsmer's do it themselves, but I need the car in tip-top shape before the end of this week for long distance driving. Besides, I drove through a deep puddle that soaked some wiring and prevented the car from starting after I stopped, so it had to be towed somewhere
.
Anyway, just thought I'd post up my new money pit.

Welcome, If you ever need a hand with it let me know i will probley do it cheaper than i pirvate shop.

guys who sell lasers are usually shady I've learned
great car though, and no gay wing
It also seems that lasers share a lot of the same problems, so if you ever have any, chances are I've been through it and know what to do.
BTW, my guess for the electrical stuff not starting is a blown MPI fuse (last one on the battery cable)

Thanks for the welcome and the offers of help, as I figure it I'm just about a tank of gas from being broke till the next paycheck, so the next repair definitely gets done true dsm style, maybe with some funding from the change in my mom's car
.
chris- thanks for the advice, I'll check out asap. Looking at the 2 week forecast, I think wet-weather starting ability is a priority if I don't want to just leave the car idling outside of places or test the limits of my AAA flatbed privileges.
