Friday 3/21/03 Desoto Speedway will be starting their new series called "oval Drags". Its just like it says. one lap/stand still start. winner advances to next round.

Im meeting with the owner today to figure out payoffs and what time this event will start.

current rules are:

A)Must have a helmet.
B)Street cars only. Domestic/imports welcome.
C)Proof of ownership needed (registration)
D)18 years and over.

I will report this tonight with the payoffs. we are gonna try to pay off top 3.

its on an oval track ?.. you mean drag racing but not in a circle?.. lol

ok heres the problem, im guessing there is two cars on the track...

so if yer on the outside and the inside car losses it and hits you you are fizucked?? or is there protection like a wall?

then this brings up another point, if there a wall and you cant get hit by the other car, you lose it and hit the wall?

im assuming staggered start positions to cominsate for the diffrence in track distance from the inside and outside..

Im so going to this just to see people loose it, if it looks like i wont total my car when i get there hell ya i'll sign my life away to play on the ovel. sounds like a really good idea if its pulled off in a safe manner.

I attended this event and won. Overall it was a blast, though there wasn't too many cars, maybe cause it rained all day? No one crashed and there was no bent sheet metal. Worst that happened was a pickup spun out. The banking on the track is pretty steep so you would have to royally screw up to slide up into it, or totally not know what your doing. I will do it again and would like to see more cars so they pay out the full amount not the $150 that I recieved.

 

Hey M3, We are running the oval drags agian on April 11th. As of right now it is 200 to win but it can go up depending on how many cars we have out there. hopfully you can get these TR guys to come.
