theres something wrong with the locking mechanism in my passenger door which isnt allowing me to open it from either side with the key or by any combination of unlocking the outside lock with the key or the inside lock manually or electronically.

i'm trying to figure a way out to either get the door panel off or the entire door off so i can get to the insides. i've got the door hinge bolts off so the front half is off but its being held on by the pin that holds the spring mechanism (or whatever it is in there) on so the front half isnt coming off. when i got the front half loose it left a little room for the door panel to move but the dash and the rear half of the door being closed are both blocking it from coming out.

if anyone has any other ideas i would greatly appreciate it. my friends are getting tired of climbing in through the driver's side.

lift the door handle and pull out the 2 screws holding it on and then start moving the levers.. no guarantee might work lol

 

there arent screws you can get to from the outside.

never mind guys, i ended up ripping the door panel off. time for a WTB door panel thread...

 

use a slim jim to unlock the door. whether to door mechanism is unhindged from the rod or not it will still unlock.

 

the locks work and i have the key and the key works. its the closed mechanism inside the door that is fubared.

 

it can be opened with a slim jim in that case also.. get a slim jim or just call a tow guy or lock smith.

 

whats the point of opening it with a slim jim if i have the door panel off?

 

could have saved you from tearing up your door panel....

 

i took a door panel off a car at the junkyard yesterday when the door was jammed shut. i didnt break the door pannel either... there was no dash tho.

i ended up just using a hammer and forcing it open because it wouldnt open at the latch.
