I had such a blast. Got to meet everybody again or for the first time. I hope to get down to Tampa soon and hang out with some of you guys and girls. Everybody was doing great. I was really impressed with the skill level. Florida is moving up in the map.
Cali, Michigan, and New Jersey have nothing on us. I would love to see events monthly. And hope to get my car out at the next one.
Everybody needs to post pics and videos for all the people that missed out. I will get some stuff hosted tonight (hopefully) and get my pics on here. I took 217 pics and have some good ones.
GO FL!!!

man we had a blast, but once again, tire selection was my enemy. i need to learn how to match tires to the course.
since the car is KA and underpowered, i typically run snow tires bc of their amazing loss of grip in the dry. UNFORTUNATELY, we were running 195/60R15's on 5.5" wide wheels. that paired with the ultra smooth track and fine wisps of sand ont he track turned our car into a spinning battle top all day. that car was a fucking handful! hopefully next time ill actually have money to buy nice tires (read new).
but all in all, had a blast!

ohhhh yea. drive sucked from sarasota but it was well worth it.
I have 2 laps in the sr meeeata on tape. cant wait till i find out how to post that. everyone did awsome. the FB was attacking the first turn section like a mad-man, well done. same with genral lee and the z31. Thanks for the good times, next time i will be ready for sure.
edit: the kat looked to have the hardest acceleration IMO. damn that thing sounded mean.

I had tons of fun. The event was a complete success I feel. The car is finally where it needs to be, and I had to completely re-learn it, but everything was finally, very intuitive.
I cannot thank these people enough for helping me work on the car until 4AM Saturday morning in order to make DD3.

All of you, you rocked the mic.
And for the event:
Thank you OGP. Your staff was awesome, everyone was very friendly, and the smiles are much appreciated by us at the drift event. Will will do whatever you ask of us as long as you treat us fairly with track time and costs. I understand that this first event was definitely a learning experience, and because of that track time was not the greatest, but combined with the Hurricane bearing down on us, I think everyone for the most part really enjoyed the event. Kyle, you ran this event better than any event I've seen run; This is truly your element.
Finally I was able to relax at the event, and only worry about my car, my friends, and the people around me that wanted to talk , discuss, relax, and have a good time between runs.
Thanks again, Can't wait for the next one. (maybe my transmission will shift better too  )

The owner..Jeff I believe, seemed like a great guy, and I thought it was awesome he was walking up t everyone asking them how they felt about it.! That was awesome
I had a blast, thats for damn sure,
Last set of runs owned me... low tire pressure sux..
But the course was wonderful, and i cant wait to hit it up on monday nights if that works out
p.s. I always love seeing everyone out there, that I dont get to see o n a reg basis

great track, awesome format! TOO MANY DRIVERS, NOT ENOUGH TRACK TIME!! but great nonetheless, this damn sport is like crack.... The more you get the more your body craves it. And the true masters of it are just plain bad ass.... there are so many variables, its ludacris. You could have a section down pat for 4 laps and then completely blow it after that, I absolutely love it! The track was way better then primus in my opinion. Big props to all who attended and drove, your skills are improving, stay with it and one day you too could be a drift god like H.B.

oh man, I loved that track, so smooth, so fun, and way faster, and wider that primus. not that primus was bad, that was awesome too. but i'd go for more laps just like i'm sure everyone esle would. hurricane, I hate you. i'm still tweakin and wanting more! but yeah, awsome runs and everybody I met, mostly everyone was a new face, was awesome and I can't wait until the next event. thanks a lot to everybody who put it together, you did an AWESOME job considering we all had to yield to extenuating circumstances, hurricane, I hate you.

It was nice meeting you, Mike!
Wow... all I can say is that regardless of only getting an hour and a half of sleep, I had a BLAST today!
Everyone on the track was nice and polite. The OGP workers, DG Trials, the owners Jeff and George. All showed extreme hospitality and I felt very welcomed on their track. I CANNOT wait to go back.
I had a lot of fun. Though it is a slow progression, I've made SOME progress. Too bad my car was acting up my first runs. I didn't get in as many runs as I'd hoped.
WONDERFUL day none the less. You guys rock.

Dday3 kicked much ass. I didn't get to talk to everyone that I would have wanted, but it was great. I got my friend who hated cars, now wanting to buy a 240. Too all the drivers, you guys were great. I only wished I could've run the supra. It would of been a handful. Does anyone know if they're gonna have anything there in the future? I'm only pissed because because I didn't get to talk to team 15, and I need to find people my own age to practice with. If you guys read this, we should hit some spots soon. PM me Vang.

bill stole the show in that miata today. played to the crowd, rocked the house. It's a practice event. Do you expect every person to get on a track they're driving for the first time and know exactly what to do?! Maybe the ones that have been doing it for years, but not the newbies. And there's nothing wrong with newbies when they pay good money to practice legally. :) BTW guys, I finally found the gas pedal.

Yes, Matt did amazingly. The new set up with the Enjuku car is perfect. Bill did spectacular as well. Everyone did their best.
BUT
I havvvvve to give props to Volvo guy (I'm so sorry I forget your name), Jason (BoxMod), and Mike (agemomai). Because well, Volvo wagon is a Volvo wagon, Jason is INSANE in a single cam and a great teacher (imagine what he could do in my car that I can only dream of doing?!@?!?), and Mike because he is still getting used to his new turbo set up and he still tore it up. I just had to give them recognition, because through the difficulty they did pretty damn decent. :-D
As well as everyone else! Some of you had tire difficulties, etc. But you still had fun and did as well as possible. Utmost props!

im not gonna bitch really bc i know it was only the 3rd time DG has done an event around here, but definately for next time, like i urged prior, start it all on time or a few minutes early.
the thing that needs to be done, was what was done only at the end of the event, get everyone in grid in a no show no go attitude, this will really help keep shit online.
also i think anyone should be able to ride, as long as they signed the waver, got a rist band, and its not a dangerous course, i dont see the problem.
other then that i believe it was ran very well. the track owner showed a lot of promise, which keeps everyone excited
i owned the sweeper almost everytime i went thru it, but since i need to replace shit, the low speed turns killed me, having stock blown struts up front and tokico short strokes in the rear, combined with no ebrake, and adding a slipping clutch made my day difficult, but time will show...

Well, the track looked awesome, but some of the barriers worry me. I might give drifting a try early next year, but I think I will start out taking corners that I feel are safe, and skipping the ones that look risky (at least till I get the hang of it). No need to wreck up a nice car.

Well, here is how i see it(not that anyone care most likely)
from what i have gathered from Knowing Kill-Bill and seeing him on a regular basis:
Bill is very very good driver. He knows that(as well as the most of you) and he also knows that the sport is growing by leaps and bounds right now(meaning that sponserships and money is going to bad-ass drivers). He has put in MANY hours honing his skills at this sport, and I think he feels he is ready to take the next step.
To put this in perspective for the narrow minded:
michal jordan never got drafted and so he is pissed off.
with that said i think some of you might understand where I am comming from, I too would get discourged a bit, none of us are perfect. when we meet on tr our thoughts and comments are not always clear or friendly, but that doesnt mean we should bring them out to play with us(UHHHHM)
shit, I tried saying hi to the other leading brand of asshole and did'nt even get a hello back(when eye contact was even made).
I guess when you get good........

first PROPs to Matt, Bill, Rob, Regina (great improvement), and im not gonna be shy here, myself. And i think EVERYONE (i dont know a lot of people by name) should do the same because no matter how good others think you did, its how you felt about how u did in comparison to what you expect of yourself at this time. I know my car has never felt so great and the drifts have never worked so well with what i have.
All the sheit talking is really pathetic also. I dunno who was talking crap and its doesnt matter to me but. If you do rip on people, your first reaction is to say how someone is doing it wrong, thats ok everyone does it. but to make it better, goto the driver and ask 2 things: what are you doing at that point? and would you like me to ride along and/or give pointers? SERIOUISLY if you cant do this it boils down to either (A) no one helped you so your not helping them (B) ya dont care about the scene, but just your props/recognition. (C)you're scared they might eventually get better than you.... this is stupid because only so much can be taught, driving is a feeling, not a lesson learned.
There are so many people that did well and so many people i personally told good job, or suggested things to to help them and not one rejected the compliment or the advice (i dont know if they all took the advice but thats up to them)
Lastly, I dunno how most of ya think about me and my skills but to anyone that wants help/ridealong or just have questions... I will try my best at making you more comfortable and perhaps a better driver.
Great Job everyone and I hope everyone had fun.

I sat their for an hour, and when the guy came, he left because he didnt like my "attitude". i was like omfg. so i had to walk down the interstate to the nearest gas station. sat their for an hour untill a really nice man drove me back to my car to jump it, but it wasnt the battery. but he was nice enough to drive me and my gf to the track. then my dad drove up from tampa and we called aaa again and got it towed. then we push started it, and i drove it to the track, had a couple of friends look at it and they found out it was just the freaking ground for the starter. despite alllllll this, i had a great time

now that ive woken up i want to mention the others that i thought did really well yesterday.
the white miata from battlegrounds was awesome
jay was definetly doing what he does best...being a badass
the white s14 with the black hood was doing really well considering the suspension
the fb rx7 was doing really good also, and i saw the driver settle in over the day and begin finding his lines.
the course was really strong, and required good line choice along with adaptation. transitiong from high speed to low speed, dirt to grip, etc...all extremely important things to learn. none the less very forgiving because everyone drove home who participated.

For those who don't know, I'm Mike (aka Mr. Anlet), the kid in the red pants and DG STAFF shirt who was working the mound on the track, running out to pick shit up, setting up haybails in the morning, pushing cars all day, making sure people who had technical problems were able to work them out, etc.
Everyone looked like they had a blast, which is why we run these events. How many people got asked "you having fun out there?" by Eugene at the start line? That's what this shit is about.
The ride alongs would ideally be anyone who has signed the waiver and has a helmet, but for certain insurance reasons, that wasn't possible at this event. It was amazing that the event was even able to happen - Kyle is the boldest and ballsiest motherfucker I know (and I'm not talking about hurricanes).
I, for one, was really pleased that there was no fights or other dramatic bullshit that went on and that even though some people have their differences, nobody let it effect their enjoyment of the day!
So much improvement done by the drivers, I can't even begin to name everyone.
Thanks to everyone for coming out and making it fun as well as kyle, jeff, melissa, john eugene, dennis, josh, WRX kid (sorry I forgot your name), and everyone who helped make it possible!

Hopefully I didn't cold shoulder anybody when I was able to talk. For a good percentage of the time I was either walking somewhere, or back somewhere else, or trying to find people because we needed something, or what not. times like that, i wasn't able to talk to people, but when I was just chilling out by the car, or by the fence, i'd talk to anybody and what not!

Now, there are some people that ask for it. Certain people that claim to be amazing drifters, etc, and get out there and embarrass themselves. That's how you get the shit talking, in my opinion.
Also, if it was constructive criticism coming from Bill then there should be no problem. It's not really his job to help people if they bragged about being so good and showed nothing.
Now if they were like me, and KNEW when and what they did wrong and admitted it, they don't really deserve the harsh criticism. They do deserve the help. And I am SOOOO SOOOO grateful that an amazing driver like Jason (boxmod) could help me. So thank you again!
Just to let you guys know, Bill isn't the only one that deserves recognition and isn't getting it. Jason tore up that entire track and hardly anyone even said "good job" to him. There are others as well. Maybe it is because he's only driving a SOHC 240sx hatch. Who knows, but his driving skills are definitely overlooked.
If you think you're really good, get a video of yourself doing the amazing things you do and write letters, send the video out, etc. Some people I know just got sponsorships by writing and sending pics!
ALSO, btw, just to let you know, Bill, Tyler (Squints) is only 15 and couldn't drive. They wouldn't allow the waiver for team 15. Heh... when he's sixteen he BETTER drive along with the rest of them. The ones I've seen are pretty damn good (def. better than me hahaha) and have much potential!

Bill- I first met you at DDAY1 and my first impression of you was during the drivers walkthrough when you were talking very loudly about how gay 240's were and how so many people had them and this and that. I was like, oh well, thats his opinion and he must have a Corolla or something different. Then I see you driving one and I was like WTF? You tore it the fuck up though, if I had to vote for the best driver that day, you would be it. But what you said, and the way you said it stuck with me. DDAY3, again you tore it up, again, I have no beef with your ability, I think your great at driving. But when you jump around beating your chest screaming "I am the man" or whatever it is you said, I think it just makes people feel a little self concious about their abilities, or lack there of. And makes you seem extremely cocky. I didn't persoanlly hear you say anything derrogatory about other drivers so I can't comment on that, maybe it happened, maybe it didn't. I for a fact know atleast two drivers who will not go to these events because they do not want to be ridiculed people who like to voice their opinion out loud without any disregard for how it makes others feel. And Im not saying your the only one.
I guess I have always felt that you let your abilities do the talking, and the better you are, the more humble you are. But hey, I have no beef with you, you are who you are and there's no reason to change for anyone. Good luck, I know a sponsorship isn't far out of your reach.

I didn't hear bill saying stuff, but thats one reason I'm having second thoughts about entering a practice. I'm really bad, and I have this thing about confrontation, I don't even like ordering pizza, because I have to talk to the people.I'm sure by the time the next practice is here I'll be on Prozac, so I don't think anything will bother me so if I catch on fire or something, you guys better put me out because I probably won't bother to stop drop and roll.:D

If someone is feeling "self concious" about their abilities,,,, then they are homo and dont deserve to drive...

Hey dude, I was like that all through high school, etc. I kept having anxiety attacks. Car events were actually the things that got me out of my severe anxiety with crowds and confrontation. I attended a TR track night and an auto-x event and participated. I am always nervous, but I've noticed I'm progressively getting better with nervousness. I am losing the nervousness sooner (after first lap), rather than at the end of the day or never.
Just give it a try. I know it's hard with our personalities to stop caring about what people say, but I promise you it happens eventually. The feeling of drifting itself is worth it. I promise!!

boxing is to auto-x as pro-wrestling is to drifting
boxing is skill, is scored, and is more of a modest sport. thats what auto-x is
pro-wrestling is not scored, its for show, and is judged mainly by the audience. same with drifting.
while it may intimidate, or make other drivers a little offset by the attitude, it does get the crowd involved, and even though i do this to become a better driver, i always want to please the crowd. its more than a perfect line, correct angle...its also showmanship, smoke shows, graphics, engine sounds, etc. once u get good, then u can start having a blast with it...thats what bill does, what i try to do, and what some of the others do.
some of the best pro-drifters are the cockiest most showoff asses around...but they're good enough to act that way. you dont get remembered by acting modest.
hey
at least i get some love from eugene!
hes my honey.
at least i comboed the whole track with like 75 horsepower.
put it this way, marks, aphxero's, corolla beat me on the highway, yes my car had that much power.

Dude STFU. These events are practices for people to try and improve on something that they love to do, or would love to learn how to do. Most people are a little gunshy when learning to do something, especially when there are great concequences involved when you make mistakes. Being in that state of mind, and hearing derrogatory comments will further inhibit them from feeling more comfortable out there, thus hindering the sports growth.
As for the rest of the comments, I can see where your coming from. I just have a difference of opinion, and guess what? That doesn't make us enemies. I very much look forward to seeing all of you guys, and girls out at the practices and competitions.

Blowing the horn and shaking fists on track gets the crowd pumped and I am all for that stuff.
However, the particular outburst I refferred to was done in the drivers pit area, far from the crowd.

Vang, I just think your attitude is way off with this one.
First off.. Not everyone is "young and invincible" and likes to be told that they suck.
Second..
D-day IS the place to practice, the street is NOT. Especially when you are 15 years old, you shouldnt be driving on the street at more than 2 mph in a straight line much less sliding around corners at 7K rpm's in an industrial complex.
I understand that if someone is over 21 in your passenger seat then you can drive with a permit, but if you pull off drifting and have a consenting adult in the passenger seat and are CAUGHT by police, the adult will have his liscense suspended or revoked for consenting illegal activity with a minor, and you prob wont drive for a long time either.
I've seen the videos, I understand you have some skills you've aquired, but the place to get those skills is at a D-day event AFTER you are 16 and can pass the waiver. D-day is not a competition, we shouldnt make fun of peoples skills there so that the drivers feel they have to "practice" on the streets in order to be "acceptable" at drift days, instead they need to practice at drift days, and be "good" at events similar to the D1 GP at Homestead.
Maybe you can get away with this for some peroid of time, but if I were your parents I'd have the car disabled until you were old enough to realize that drifting on other peoples property could put your parents in some serious financial hurt, and that its not a good thing to play on the streets.
I also feel that the support of some other members of this board (no names given) towards your illegal activity is improper, especially when some of them are not even of adult age themselves.

Man way to many people on their soapboxes... IMHO skills matter.. talk is cheap. Bill can back it up, well thats his deal... Just cause he critzies people, in a condeseding way, that in no way means he's not a great driver.. I prefer someone that wears their thoughts on their sleve.. Atleast you know where you stand with him...

i agree with slash, and with the experiences ive had with street drifting.... i hate it. but i did it alot when i was young and stupid.... every now and then in the rain ill let myself have a lil fun on a turn but nothin crazy....
and sumo, id rather have a person who tells me what im doing right and how to fix the problems instead of someone just telling me the wrongs.....
expressing an opinion is not the problem, its the manner/way its expressed that can cause issues.

dude seriously, when you get doen driving and rockeing out you have all sorts of bulilt up addrealin and it has to go somewhere!! i mean come on, how was my out burst affecting anyone in a negative manner, it was meant to get others pumped up and excited. the only people i talked about that were out there drifting were one's who have talked about me so its all in fair game. i didn't say anything about anyone who was a beginner, but the people all the time on the boards that say their bad ass drifters and get out there and suck deserve to get maid fun of IMO. and i was making fun of 240's so i was making fun of myself too, too many people take themselves to serioulsy, you all need to lighten the hell up. by the way................................:finger: :ban:  :dbird: :D :tard: :lmao:

all i can say is that i was there and i had a blast. any trash talking was by people who saw a few drifting videos and thought they knew it all or could do it all.(not me)people that do drift and were saying things were demonstrating constructive criticism. bill doesn't come to ur job and slap the broom out ur hand, so why bitch at him when he's working???? I like drifting but this drama is overwhelming. just have fun. and if people want to pay you to have fun or give u perks, so b it. Dont b jealous bastards!

Um, no. Your way off base about me son. Ask anyone who has seen me drive.
Bill- I see your points, they are valid ones. Thats what these forums are for. Why go around with thoughts all pent up causing more friction? I posted this so I could try and see if there was another side to this story because, every interaction I had with you was a negative.
Again, DDAY was awesome, Tampa guys rocked the house as usual! And I can't wait for the next one. Peace out.
