View Full Version : The challenge begins
I have all of this stuff for the new setup -
Eclipse 5506 Head Unit
(2) Eclipse 8 Disc CD Changers
(2) Eclipse 8710.4 10in Subs
(2) Zapco EQ30-SL 30 Band Equalizers
Zapco SX-SL Equalizer
Zapco Z400C4-SL 1 ohm stable Competition Amp
(2) Focal 130KS Mids and Highs
Voltage and Amp Temperature Gauges
Lightning Audio Wiring, Capacitor & Blocks
Custom Amp Cooling w/ Exhaust Port
Custom Made Vinyl Panels and Plexiglass
Custom Made Carbon Fiber Trim
Custom Made Neon Light Enclosure
Custom Made Kick Panels
+ All the wiring.. and its going to be a MESS...... The Zapco setup comes with converters which converts the wiring to telephone looking wire that goes to all of the EQ's.. the 30 band EQ's are for fine tuning the left and right, then the main EQ of course.
I think the main pain in the ass will be splicing in for the converter... I think I will be starting on the stereo installation on next weekend....
i still need to read up on installation to see from where the wires go.. like cross over, then to amp, etc.. this is going to suck :(

well then by all means ask for help rather than coming in bitching about "oh god, i have a system that costs more than most peoples cars... and now i have to INSTALL it?!?!?! oh woe is me!!" christ... if i had half of that stuff within 10 feet of my car, let alone the chance to install it in my car, i'd spontaneously orgasm.
Ok I will show you a picture of the wiring tomorrow and you will change that orgasm thought if its up to you to install it... stop being a dick man, some support we have here on the audio section.....

yes... i realize that setup is probably going to be a bitch to install. my point is... if you want help... ask for it. don't bitch about how hard your life is because you have to wire up your eleventy gabillion dollar system. you've got a very nice setup. be grateful. i'd be jumping at the chance to install something like that in my car.
you probably took my post in the wrong way man, so calm down..http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/avatar.php?userid=12324&dateline=1064161177

The best system in the world will sound like ass if you don't install it right. If you're intimidated by the task you may want to take it to a pro...
Are you building kicks? If so, have you ever done it before because that's no easy task?
Have you eq'd a system before?
Do you have reference material for both imaging and tonal accuracy?
Not to rain on your parade man I'd just hate to see that fine equipment used to anything less than it's full potential.
i thik he has kicks alreayd made
its gonna be a bitch, But you know I'll lend a hand whenever/wherever I can
but I woudl take it somewhere to get tuned using iasca disc etc
everything is already tuned, thats why i didn't mess with the 30 band EQs . This setup was already put together professionally and I just have to wire it up on my car which is going to be a bitch, I can get the basics but I would not know where to with the wiring like from Headunit, to converter, then from converter to EQ's then crossovers then amp, from amp to speakers? I have 4 focal cross overs, 2 for subs 2 for door speakers.. I'll probably need some help installing this from someone who might have a better idea, I have all the papers and stuff so I can probably call up the shop.... labor for something like this will get up there

you should really eq once everything is installed in the car, particularly the speakers in the kicks...
anyway PM me if you need some help I'll be happy to lend a hand
Thanks guys, I'll be starting on this next weekend because I have no time during the week, I am going to tear apart the interior on Friday night to get it ready for the weekend because I have a feeling it might take more than 1 day.
I am friends with the owner of Tampa Bay Auto Sounds and I am sure once its in the car he wouldnt mind getting someone to help out with the tuning.. all the help I have are the documents on www.installdr.com for tuning the stereo after its in... the company made a layout of the stereo without the EQ's and the cross overs which is going to make it a little tougher than I though

hit me up next weekend.. 813-846-4500
day one of installation:
I want to blow up the car....
ill hve pictures tomorrow...... too dark to take pictures.. and i have tan seats in my car now because the brackets that they sent for my sparcos were the wrong ones.. so im really frustrated with this wiring mess, and my car being half put together
hello and wlcome toe the world of the audio junkie.. driving a rolling project ofr times unknown
LOL exactly.. mine is a project from hell right now, i blew a couple of fuses, my alarm doesn't work, power locks, and map light.... and theres fingerprints all over the car but i dont care

You wont blow fuses if you disconnect the batt... And you sould have it dissconnected so you dont ark any wires and catch the car on fire..
the fuses blew because of the alarm, it had nothing to do with the stereo.. i have to take the car to the shop today to get the alarm fixed, it just stopped working out of nowhere the other night before any of this
lol yeah i drove the civic without door panesl for ~2 weeks
no amps for ~ 4 and having a preout only hu...
look at the pictures i put up lol u can see the mess of wires and no back seat, gutted trunk with just carpet over it for now and another mess of wires under it
and tan seats which do not match with my car because i traded them thinking that i can put on my sparcos but they sent me the wrong base... i was frustrated yesterday but today i dont care, i got up, went to discount and stocked up on my wiring supply (quick splices, tape, etc..) and next weekend the headache shall continue... until then I'll be driving the car in pieces
you shoudla gone to harbor frieght tools for tha tshit... I bought a pack oflike 10 rolls fo e tape for like 2 dollars
where is that at?? Info man! I figured I could buy stuff in large quantities for cheaper somewhere, I still need the quick splicers that have a plug on it so you can remove it when you need to... that would help ALOT
male /female plugs?
harbor frieght (at least the one Ive been to) on fletcher by the nissan dealer in the vicinity i think...
I know theres a website for it with exact directions
yea the actual splice has a female plug on it so you can plug in whatever wire you want to splice it with, ill look it up and go there today
