IN YOUR DREAMS.

THE ONLY WAY YOU BLOW PAST A VETTE IS IF HE STOPS AND DROPS HIS PANTS DOWN AROUND HIS ANKLES SO YOU CAN DO YOUR THING.

That's sad! But I know a few Vette owners who have NEVER gone WOT...what a waste. But there are two '03 Cobra owners around here that now wish that I was that way. However, the new Cobras are quick & would have taken my car when it was stock.

Hey, that's a nice way to treat guests...

I think the few C5 visitors you have "trolled" on in are pretty good guys who utilize the power and handling the car has to offer (and yes, not like 90% of 'vette pilots out there).

Besides, most stock 6 spd C5's vs stock '03 Cobras it will come down to driver.

Maybe you'd like to trade us in for a few more "Crouching Honda, Hidden Muffler" guys...?

You sir, are not a troll I was speaking of the all caps HABIB guy. I like C5's, and pretty much any LS1 powered car. I had a 2000 WS6 that I traded in on the Cobra.

I think the race would definatly come up to be driver oriented especially if it was from a stop. It's freaken hard to launch the Cobra. I usually just slip the clutch really hard for the first 10 feet.

Aha...glad to hear it...

The 'Cobra is a beast, and if not for the 3600+ pound curb weight hardtop, it could be a track contender with the C5 (3200+lbs).
As such, the extra weight will eat tires and brakes a great deal where turns are involved.

That IRS, iron block, new 6-spd etc. really hurt that car (I was a 'stang driver when they weighed 3100-3200 lbs fully loaded with angry 5.0's under the hood-and ate early C4 'vettes straight line).

Oh, and believe it or not, talking about traction-the biggest power/handling/braking reduction is the factory C5 GoodYear Run Flats. They are worthless after one year performance wise (the reduced rubber coupled with the drying and the no-flex sidewall) ride awful and roar like Satan claiming your soul above 40 mph cruising. Mine at the one year mark spun always in first (from just above idle as it went through the powerband regardless of temperature) and for at least 2-seconds on the lift shift to 2nd. Can you say a waste of power?

Now I just went to NRFlats and the difference in traction, ride comfort , and grip are incredible (and not just b/c they are bigger).

These things grab like fangs, and I estimate a minimum 2 tength increase in the quarter...
