we finally get this kid with a 97 ex civic 5spd to come out and race. naturally everyone wants me in the 2000 dx auto to race him since i have beat him on the street in a rolling start. so we are the first race up. we line up and then we are off. the ex gets the jump but then between his 1st and 2nd i pull back on him and we are even. he shifts into 3rd gear and i pull on him and put about a 1/2 car length on him at the 1/4 mile. damn was i happy. then my friend bret (who also has a 97 ex) talked to the other kid and said i can beat him in your car so the kid lets him drive and sure enough i never led the 2nd race and lost by a car length. o-well im in the need for more speed!

Well if its a manual yes the driver DOES MAKE a HUGE difference. If it as an AT well it doesnt take much skill just to mash the pedal.

well my friend bret drove the second time. the only thing that the kid did wrong was that he never let the damn car hit vtec he was shifting right b4 it. he also had a terrible launch he said he dropped the clutch at like 3500 and when bret raced it he dropped it at 5500. that was the only difference
