If you dont know me, my name is Jeff and i drive a silver 240sx with a sr20det.

It was firday night on August 31st, I was at my friend Mike's house putting a new rear diff in his car. He got a freind to weld a diff for him and we were putting it in. After getting our fare share of greasy cuts and bruses we finally finished. At this time is was about 2:30am, he drove the car around the block checking out his new ride. he pulled in and told us how it was, it turned out to be a success. We were all tired and ready to leave to maybe get a little bit of sleep. Of course im the only one that has to drive 40 minutes back to Tarpon Springs. As im driving back im getting kind of tired, ok really tired. As i get to Gulf to Bay rd. im driving along and a Nissan 200sx is driving in front of me. I didnt think to much of it, only because i was really tired. At this time I have drivin past Tampa rd.; I started to pull beside this 200sx just driving normal and my eyes feeling really heavy. Out of nowhere this 200sx flies by me making this wierd ass whistling noise that made me jump almost out of my seat. Up ahead the light at Alderman rd. was turning red, this 200sx was in the front and some kind of SUV and then me all lined up in the front. As i was sitting there, I was thinking about if I should maybe "race" this car. I look to the left, then look to the right. There wasnt a cop in sight. IT WAS ON. i could see the reflection of the green light change to yellow then proced to red; the turning lanes went, my heart was begining to thump, I revved the engine, the light turned green, and we were off! The turbocharged SR20det of my 240sx got the jump on this 200sx. Shift, i was in second; the 200sx was to the left and about a car legth behind me. Shift, i was in third; out of the corner of my eye i could see the 200sx stay right where it was, to the left and about a car legth behind me. As i rolled past 80mph I backed off and so did the other. I pulled up beside him and told him,"Damn man, that thing is pretty damn quick!" Then the guy said,"Thanks man. It's not even tuned yet." I thought about it for a second, then said,"If that was tuned you probly would have beat me." The guy said,"Do you possibly know where i could get it tuned?" Of course i said XAT Racing, i told him that they were a very reputable shop. He thanked me then we parted ways.

I thought I would post this, just because.

 

so...it was turbo? if not what does he expect to gain from a tune?

nice to see both parties were nice. usually the looser gets all kinds of bitchy and the winner gets all stand off ish. good job on being civil and helping that kid out...

was it a peice of shit looking one with a messed up back window?old school one. if so i seen it before and its qiuck for what it is and just thrown together. he went out quakerstake before on thursday a while back.
anyhow sounds like a good run

and yes i was about half asleep until he wooshed past me!

 

was it red? it might be a friend of mine with a sr20 swapped 200sx the thing is a beast and really really needs tuning.
