I was down at the New Tampa meet down at Pube-Lix off Sr56 at about 11:30
When a few buddys of mine were telling me this guy In this white late 90's GTi w/a FMIC, was kinda poping off his mouth saying he could beat my friends previously sold STi swaped 2.5rs coupe and allso saying he could beat his new street bike?!
He allso says he could beat that Saturn too......(My car)
So Ryan and Yousef come up and ask me to run him to shut him up b/c i beat his STi earlyer that year and knew it would be a nice race.............

Well, I currently have 320 miles fresh off a build of my engine and kinda worried about fouling stuff up....
but i say what the heck..go run the guy and see what he's got!

We line up as im in 2nd gear around 4500 at 40MPH........3 honks were off
We stayed with it together through 2nd. he' gained maybe a half car into 3rd as im shifting early at 6200, I wasnt paying attention to him just my revs and my boost..Trying not to put to much stress on the engine. In the middle of 3rd i pull back nxt to him for the pass maybe half car or a full car. i rev to 7000. Into 4th now pulling strong. I shut down about a car up. at 120ish......

I pull back into the parking lot with the win...as everyone was astonished that i won. Other than my close friends knew i would

The white GTi that i thought was turbo? was actualy Centrifugaly S/C!!!!
I didnt even bother to ask the guy...I justed raced him for my friend's
He had an 8valve engine with a scirocco head and 12psi of boost w/ a stage3?? for a good 240HP and the FMIC wasnt even hooked up.............

It was a great run and he was pretty cool about it........but he had some excuses as well did I b/c my car wasnt running to its fullest.....But we shook hands and all that stuff.........He told me he had only lost a total of 3 times with that car and I was the 3rd????
I really wanted to tell him that there would be more losses for him around. here in tampa.....cuz my shit is slow son

I ran outa money half way through the build....New pistons10:5.1, rods and LSJ performance Cam and all the lil fixens. 42Lb injectors, 2 step colder plugs gaped at 4.2
Stock head,stock header, stock boost 12PIS......... still stock exhaust
and GM stage 2 computer flash. @250whp for safe reasons

What i was supposed to have was Stage 5 From Intense
wich is going on another engine i got on Ebay.
what i allready have is a (from old set up)
ported M62 Gen V. eaton blower
2.8 and 2.5 s/c Pulley for diff psi
Long tube header with e-cut out

what i need is (No $$ Yet) B/c I bought the new engine
seimens 60lb/hr fuel injectors
Satge 5-PCM
the s/c snout machined
oversized tensioner
and 2.4 stroker
then i should be close to 300WHP marker maybe a lil more
and then some juice

Im sure he was just picking on him cuz it was just a 600cc bike. I knew he couldnt beat him.
I really knew it would have been hard to beat that 2dr STi with just that V-dub
Cuz im slower now then i was then?I had 267hp running it hard when i ran the STI, and he had some bolt ons aswell. But i wanna secure my investment.

 

The newer 600cc bikes run 10s in the quater.
