Has this ever happened to you? You're on a 6 lane road (3 in each direction for the mathmatically challenged) and you happen apon a "race" between 2 other cars? Here was the scenerio.
Red GTI 1.8t v Red fullsized GMC truck with some sort of V8. These two had been messing around in traffic before when I got the chance to pull up next to them. They were revving at each other and exchanging dialogue, not noticing that a little grey 240 had slid up next to them in the empty lane at the light. As they ignore me and continue with their banter, I wait for the light. As it turns green, they both go and I pace the faster of the two, the GTI. He's doing all he can to beat that truck while I pace him, waiting for my chance to pounce. Second gear comes a bit early and I don't really want to get past 5psi and start pulling yet. He hears my BOV and looks over, still at WOT. I smile, wave and mat the gas, giving him a full boost taillight show.
I know my car isn't the fastest thing out there, but it is just funny to make sure someone knows that their best just isn't good enough. Plus, it is always a good idea to actually look all around before you leap. You never know when there is going to be some asshole like myself out to ruin your day with a little beat up sleeper.
