widened steelies
I am contemplating getting a set to throw on the mk3 but i have heard/read diffrent things about them.I searched vortex and read somewhere that they don't bolt right up and in another thread they do, so anyway discuss, not like there is much going on in the vw forum anyhow. If i do end up with a set they will be from diamond racing, if that matters.

Dimond racing wheels are crap. If your going to do widened steelies do them the right way.

If you get a set of vw steelies then their shouldn't be an issue with them mounting up, you're not changing the bolt pattern. The only issue i see is not figuring out your ETs correctly. I can't find a pic of the guy whose ETs are all jacked up, but it looks aweful. This guy did it right though

diamond steelies are not crap, maybe for cars like supras and whatnot, but i know multiple people who have had diamond steelies on their vw's and have loved them. there shouldnt be a bolt up problem as long as you get the right bolt pattern and offset you need.
I know people with aids too, but that doesn't mean i want it. Those wheels are like driving on butter. They are crazy soft and are supposed to be for the track. For that reason they suck.
