Which in your opinion would be a faster car with mods. A 1.8L 180 hp 174 lbs-ft torque 4 cylinder in-line 5V turbo-chargedgas or 2.8L 174 hp 181 lbs-ft torque 6 cylinder VR6 15° V gas. I would like to get on of these 2 cars. I like the 1.8 turbo but it is a 4 cylinder and was wondering if the 2.8 vr6 would be a faster car with an aftermarket turbo on it.

A turbo or supercharged VR6 would slap a stock 1.8t around. The 1.8t is a great engine and stock vs stock I would take a 1.8t any day. However a FI VR6 with the correct chip and drag slicks will be really fast.

You will need to bump up to a stage 3 kit to run with FI VR6s.

Also to add 1.8t is a lot lighter than the vr6 lighter faster. Plus a 1.8t can hang or out do vr6 with the right mods.

Yes there also appears to be more modifications on the market for 1.8ts than the vr6 (assuming they have the 24v vr6).

The 1.8T is about 80 lbs lighter. Not that big of a difference. Look at the weights of the VR6 and 1.8T cars. They arent that far apart.

I prefer the VR6. Ive tried to get myself to buy a 1.8T but just cant. When it comes to high ends mods both motors cost the same (ie Stg III Kits are both around $4-5k).
