Quick New Beetles??
Fastest I have heard of is 4.0 0-60 from HPA Motorsports twin turbo vr6 (24 valve) beetle with Quattro AWD. The cool thing is it is made from all VW/Audi oem parts. It goes for $65000 (price of the car is included in that price). Even cooler is they can do this setup to most of the A platform of VW cars (Golf GTi New Beetle and TT). Theres a review of the car in the June 2001 issue of Motor Trend.

The 1.8T Beetles can be tuned the same as the rest of the cars. The problem lies in its tight engine compartment. So this means that it has a more restrictive exhaust and probably intake as well. Which causes horsepower ratings to be slightly lower when tuned.

Revhard - are you asking about fastest with stock motor or any?

APR has a GT25 kit available for the Beetle.

4-Motion and Quattro are just marketing names. They dont refer to a specific AWD system.
The A platform cars use Haldex which is a hydraulic clutch based system. Haldex cars are FWD biased.

The B platform cars and all other Audis use TorSen differentials which is a series of worm gears.

Already had a 180 hp Beetle. Also have 2 24v Vr6 Jettas now. Manual trans wont be out for a while yet. Jettas scoot pretty good for a tiptronic. But 28000.000 for a Jetta is stupid. Ill take an A4 thank you. Oh yeah I already ordered one.
