i just installed a turbo xs rfl bov on my audi. i cant hear it at all. i know i wont hear it inbetween shifts but even when i give it gas then let off i still dont hear anything. is this normal for auto's. a friend suggested maybe the bov is bad. if you run the stock bov atmospherically should you hear it? the rfl is supposed to be the loudest bov on the market i thought i would hear it even a little. thanks guys.

you should be able to hear it when you boost up, and then abruptly clost the throttle. A friend of mine has and aftermarket BOV on his automatic 1.8t Jetta, and it sounds fine.

 

the point of a bov is not who has the loudest..as long as its doing what its supposed to be doing then who cares about if you can hear it or not

 

your not going to really hear anything if your running the stock air box, especially with an auot. if you want, you could try reversing the dv. that may produce a loud chirping sound.

 

if you are running a stock dv atmosphericaly, i think it's probably broken.

 

get a cold air intake and you will hear it

 

i didnt buy the bov because its loud i bought it because i got a really good deal on it and i wasnt sure if i was supposed to hear it or not. but im gonna put it on my friends gst just to make sure it works right.thanks guys
