Default Oil leak

My 97 vr6 jetta has been leaking oil for a month now and I've just been filling it up but I really need to get it fixed. I'm from Orlando and there are no good mechanics around here. When I was back in St. Pete for Thanksgiving I had it looked at and they said it was a black synchro(or something like that) switch. Does anybody know of any good mechanics in Orlando or where I can get this part from?

If you are just looking for the part, try http://germanautoparts.com/ if you are looking for a mechanic, try asking some people on http://www.theecco.net/

A black synchro switch? Can't say that I have ever heard of that, was the mechanic familiar with VW's? Do you know where the oil is leaking from?
