GTI 20th AE Question
 

Well...I don't even know where to begin. I'm in the market for a new car (new new, not just new) and I was looking at a plethora of cars and finding it pretty hard to decide if there was anything that I even liked. "GTI's, I always liked the way they looked" I thought. So, did some research and then I saw it. The AE 20th :o !!!! It's so hot! I'm hooked now and I really want to buy one even if it isn't going to be used :(

The questions then:

How rare are they in Tampa? I hit up Autotrader and a few other online places like that. Went to Tampaveedubs.com's for sale section, checked TR's etc. No mention of them. VWvortex had a few in their classified section but none were even close to here :mad: Then VW.com's certified pre-owned doesn't even list them but it says "Get one" but I think it's just listing all VW dealers within my zip. Or am I wrong and they never sold all 4,000? (yeah right :roll: )

Anyone have one for sale/know someone or some place that has one for sale?

i got my 00' golf 1.8t from reeves for 11,200 plus ttt. killer deal and the car only had 38k when i bought it. about 51k now. reeves rocks!

yeah.. but karttoon wants the 20th anniversary edition.. comes with lots of nice extras..

keep on the lookout on ebay in the florida region (or however far youre willing to travel), as well as on autotrader.

Yeah. 20AE is really only different in looks but I like it :) Comes with 18" rims which aren't half that bad looking, lower then the normal GTI, brushed metal interior, retro golf ball shifter, 6 speed and a few other spiffy items like the rabbit badge. If you go to VW.com and click the GTI model they have a little thing about it.

Ah well, if worst comes to worst and I can't get one no matter what then I will get the 2004 GTI. The 2005's are horrid :o What was VW thinking??

are you kidding? i love the new design. ill probably get one as my next ride.

The Mk5 GTI's are VW's way of keeping up with the Civic Si, etc. A 20th Anniversary GTI is going to be hard to come by. I see them driving around, but them being for sale is scarce. I'd just keep checking what you are now for months and see what comes up. If you're really serious that's the only thing you can do.
