i was looking to see if anyone knew of any upgrades that could be done basically by yourself-without tampering with the car too much- i heard of messing with the boost control?any help?

 

There isnt much you could do. but eather remove the resonater
from the air box or cut the bottom of the air box allowing more air to enter the engine.but by doing that you will be able to here the blow off valve....Good luck

It's definately not a good idea to take the N75 off. For some cheap power you could pick up the "h" n75 valve. VW part # 034 906 283H . This part replaces the stock wastegate actuator(n75 valve) and allows for a bit more boost. A chip is probably the easiest and safest way to get power. Although it runs about $500 you'll pick up 29hp with the 180TT or 27hp if you have the 225tt(this is using apr's power figures www.goapr.com).

I would not reccommend hacing the bottom off of your air box, what I would do is open the air box up and cut the fins off and smoth out the inside fo the air box. It will give you the most power. The DIVERTER valve isn't gonna be loud like a BOV but it'll make planty of noise if you put a cold air intake on your car.l
