Lansky led a charmed life. He never was convicted for any major crimes. He never was a target of a hit. He beat the feds who have over a 90% conviction rate. He outlived most of his friends by many years.

Meyer Lansky is actually a man to admire...that is, when it comes down to what makes a real man; Integrity, not talking to the cops, feds-- they never laid a finger on him. I'm a Jew and I'll add this...SHAME on Israel for not allowing Meyer Lansky to live out his days in Israel, as is granted every Jew under the Law Of Return. He was right when he said, "If you cut the phone lines between the U.S. Department of Justice and the Knesset I'd be a citizen right now." A man with real balls.
