YouTube - Wrx off road #4 avoid new ditch almost crash

This was taken on some private property of a friends. It's a nice straight away, I hadn't driven down it in a while. The grass had grown up, and he forget to tell me they dug out the ditch on the other end. I stopped from 70mph max brake until about 1 ft before the ditch. I loved it.

The video is shot from inside the car, and there is even some log avoidance in the beginning. 70 mph through swampgrass is pretty fast... Didn't plan on it being a "almost wreck" just wanted a nice path run.

did you see it? If i wouldn't have stopped in time i would have completely nose plowed that ditch man... maybe you had to be there or something lol... my adren was going hard after that, like a dog shitting bones.

 

didnt look to dangerous to me, you maybe broke 25.

definatly went a few MPH over 25... but 70? notsomuch.. remember, your speedometer tells you how fast your wheels are spinning in that sugar sand and grass.. not how fast YOU are moving.

p.s. this vid would be good if you jumped the ditch, even if it ended in disaster, ahah < jdm version of "haha"

 

lol the video doesn't depict speed very well, the best way I can tell you to do is watch the trees in the distance right at the beginning of the run, and watch how fast they come up... I ran out 2nd gear and got into 3rd for a bit. That is around 70 mph in a 5 speed wrx. Anyone wana ride with next time

next time we'll go 100+ and catch it on tape. hopefully we dont have any almost wreck footage like this 'ere
