dsminduction was right. to clarify, it does cool the intake charge, but it only cools till its burned in the combustion chamber. there is where the extra power is made, and it burns hotter than just atmosphere. this also goes to some troubles people experience with nitrous and forced induction in regards to knock. as said, it does cool the intake charge, but it burns so much hotter in the cylinder. this is why im always leaning toward adding more fuel (in the form of methanol/water/alcohol) than i am into adding more air (such as nitrous) to cool an intake charge....ever wonder why the alcohol cars do such lengthy burnouts and take so long to stage? its not cause they are retarded and like to put on a good smokeshow. its cause alcohol cars have a VERY hard time warming up before they get to the line. and its because the cylinders burn so much cooler.
