Ssl?
I noticed that www.tamparacing.com has something running over SSL, but it's not the messageboard or the site. Can we get this piece running over SSL? 128bit encryption would make me feel much more at ease while posting at work. Thanks!

SSL is expensive, and requires a dedicated IP. We dont have cash to spend, nor an IP to reconfigure with easily.
That being said we could make TR use a self signed certificate that you just accept, that wouldnt be too hard.

You know, basically everything appears to come over a secure channel except for the banner image at the top and a few other random images. Are they hard coded to full URL links per the board package that you're using or are they just kinda knobbed up in the HTML? If they were embedded using relative links, the whole SSL shizamel would work like a mofo.

yep..it would work.. but we'd have to have al lour users accept the signature.. and there is no real reason we need SSL on TR.. they are still gonna see the GET requests in their proxy logs regardless of whether its a http or https resource they your requesting.
i'd not want to change the base that all the relative URLS pointed to unless we had a proper cert.
If your worried aobut your surfing being looked at, I suggest fidning a proxy to use

I hear the proxy idea. I should just setup a secure proxy on my firewall at home and be done with it.
