i think i need to cange my trans an need advice
ok so like after a week of owning it the trans started to kick into gears thought nothing of it thought it was a ford thing then like a week later after driveing it for a while it would seem like 1st would slip an like a week ago i was driving it for like 30 min an then trans stopped shifting all together just drove in 1st so i got it towed home an the next day i started it an went to take it around the block an it started shifting again so i decided to drive it a little longer an see what happend after like 20 min the trans stoped shifting again seems like when it warmed up it stopped working could really use some advice thanks ((((((the truck is a 92 f150 with the 302 motor an the a4od or e4od not sure its the 20 bolt pan an has over drive ))))))

autos arent my thing or fords but just trying to be helpful, but it would probby be better to bring it to a shop and see what they say

yea its auto thanks i dont have money for a shop but if theres anyone else with some advice id be greatful i mean ive planed on replacing the trans

try simple cheaper things first, could be a dirty filter, but first check ur trans fluid, if its not cherry red, and it smells burnt then i would do the filter, also pull out a spark plug check it and see how it looks, my dads mustang transmission started acting weird cuz of the spark plugs

checking the fluid was the first thing i did an it doesnt smell burnt but i think the previous owner way over filled it because when i pulled over the first time there was trans fluid everywhere an i left the truck running to see how much was still in there an there an it was where it was suppose to be but there was fluis all over idk where it came from but it was on top the trans

does ur truck have a TPS? Throttle Position Sensor? cause some cars ( like my nissan when i had an auto trans in it) if the TPS isnt working right it wont shift right

idk im assuming it does but still doesnt explain the fluid everywhere an god i bet working on that vg30 is just lovely is it tt or n/a
