Ford F-150 1990

I really don't like ford that much but I have this truck. Its been all over the U.S. and whenever I press down on the gas (all the way to the floor board) about a minute or two later it stalls out on me. So, I'm just wondering, is it a fuel filter problem or the pump?

change the fuel filter first. They are cheap enough.
