1uzfe power i need some more
i have a 1uzfe in my 240sx hatch i was told they make 190 hp after i put it in there then i was told it could make up to 220 with a safc what can i do to make more power out of this motor before i put the turbo on it i would like to drive the car na so i can set the car up to my liking then put it on ?????
My .02 is that if he says it was built for boost, the compression has been (in all likleyhood) lowered - hence probably why you cannot make much power in NA form.

the 1uzfe comes with 10.2:1 from the factory...in the older ones, slightly higher in the newer ones, 10.4:1 i believe.... can't really do much with the timming. idk if the q45 throttle body would even work on the car..its not much bigger if it is at all, and i dont think the tps will work. i would definantly port match everything and free up intake and exh. untill you go FI

also, the q45 tb is quite larger. it is a 80mm tb instead of 70mm. also, greddy sells an adaptor to let stock toyota tps's work on the q45 tb as the greddy intake plenum for the 2jzgte is flanged for the q45 tb.. but why bother?
if you want to stay n/a, pull the heads, port and polish, get a set of cams, custom headers, dual exhaust, itb's, and a megasquirt setup, as for pistons, ross will make pistons in any compression ratio you want, as will wiseco and je etc.. though for cheap, you can use the 10.5:1 pistons from a vvti 1uz. as well as these heads flow over sbc and sbf, id say you could pull ~400hp with the right combination all motor on 93 octane. but gas mileage will uttterly suck.
if you want to go turbo, get a set of arp head studs (not cheap). get a 1st gen 1uz (89-94, has the stronger rods and hyperutectic pistons at 10:1 compression). then use 3uz-fe headgaskets. they are mls(just like hks etc.. for 7mgte) stock, so just use 2 on each side(just like the 2jz na-t guys do with no issues over 800rwhp) and it will lower the compression ~1 full point (dont feel like punching everything into the compression calculator at the moment to find the exact compression). perfect for turbo on this engine. then the plumbing of the turbo etc.. is up to you. youll prolly have to ditch the a/c and power steering pumps, and then mount the alt on the driver side backwards to make sure you have plenty of room for the dp on the passenger side etc... though a built auto, r154, v160, or t56 will be needed to hold up. w58 will not last at all. they sell adaptors to fit a jz bh to the 1uz which will work for the v160 and r154, or you can buy the adaptor to fit the auto bh to an r154, and there is also an adaptor to fit the auto bh to a lt1 t56. v-eight.com is your friend!

this mr2tin guy needs to learn how to type or speak or something. what i meant by saying the motor was built for boost was.....

your not going to get alot of power per dollar spent unless u do forced induction. the motor has forged internals and 6 bolt mains from the factory. it can handle all the boost you want to throw at it. i never once gave mention to the compression ratio. doing just bolt on's n/a won't get u a whole lot. even with a standalone, cams and such you'll be lucky to get 250wheel. the intake manifold is
restrictive. so itb's and cams might like i said earlier get u close to 300.
