why do corollas not get the respect that they deserve? has anybody tested out a the new corollas with vvt-i (same exact engine as in the celica gt!)? its pretty damn surprising what those lil family grocery gettin cars can do! i know its no tt supra but it can keep up with those over-rated civics! in stock form the corolla has 125 hp and 125 lbs of torque and weighs 2405 and civics have 127 hp and 114 lbs of torque and weighs in at 2553 the only problem is that there are so many more performance products for civics even the new civics are coming out with new products everday! oh boy cant wait till the trd supercharger comes out!!!

Funny you mention this... we just got our new Celica GT and I love the engine in this car. Its 140hp not 125 as you mentioned in your post. If the Corolla has the same 140hp motor then I would definitly consider it as a second car. But honestly to answer your question Hondas and Acuras get all the respect because they look cooler than a 4-dr Corolla to the majority of people. My question is more about the Celica... why doesnt it get more respect?? Obviously way better looking more powerful and much betterhandling and braking however I cant find performance parts or even just accessories ANYWHERE. Any suggestions?

yea i said the corolla and gt had the same exact engine 1zz-fe but i didnt say it had the same exhaust system. i asked a trd specialist in my area where does the gt make 15 more horses than the corolla and he said it was in the exhaust system
there are so many celica parts now there growing everyday just like the honda/acura cars you should try www.newcelica.org and ask them for the parts
