most of the mr2 crowd have heard of the v6 mr2 that won the 2004 ultimate street car challenge. the engine bay actually seem to have more space with the 1mz compare to the 3s. i also heard the engine was lighter, giving the car 100lb diet at the end of the swap.

so we know the "1mzfze" fits in the mr2, we know the 3s was in the celica altrac also. so couldn't the 1mz fit the celica also?

if it does fit the celica, the rav4 has the same engine set up as the celica with the 5sfe. i've heard of a few 3sgte swapped rav4 around the world, wouldn't it technically doable with the 1mz also?

just kinda bothering me a little with it... and wanted some toyota people input

Hello guys, i'm almc2242, better known as the mensajero. i have a 1997 Toyota RAV4 with a lot of simple mods. I was on a google search and this poped up. I also was thinking to install a 1MZFE V6 engine into my RAV4. Has anyone any information regarding this mod? I love to drive sleepers. This would make an awesome one.

Judging from that picture though, no doubt it may be possible, however I can guarentee you that the 3MZ will fit in the new RAV4 whenever we get it. Actually, the new RAV4 is getting the 3.5 GR direct injection V6 for 05/06 or so. You may be better off waiting for that and getting something with a bit more displacement, and--depending on people opening it up for power--possibly more potential
