Excellant designed Ram CAI
I just completed this Ram CAI.
I used a SAAB turbo intake scoop " Cophers" $5
I used 3" pipingfrom the scoop to the stock inlet.
I then used a silicon adapter/connetor to hold the piping to the stock setup.
My Gas mileage went up to 93 miles per 1/4 tank. Not sure if thats good!
Throttle response over 60 MPH is awesome in comparsion to stock, and I also got the metal manifold cool to the touch and not hot.
I can show anyone how to make this setup.
I can't wait to see how much better it will run with a replacement K&N, since I want to keep the intake system pressuzied. Since very 1 psi is 15 HP and I am hearing you can get up to 3 psi over 100 mph. It must have some pressure building up every time I go over 65 MPH, it keeps blowing apart my s

that 1 psi = 15hp is a Very broad generalization... is that 1psi at ambient, or STP or at 40 lb/min or what?
i dont give much creedence to ram air these days... just cool air. cool air is much more plausible than ram air. the dynamics and physics of having an actual functionl ram air intake beyond the cool air supply is not easily achieved.
your gas mileage probably increased because you have a denser intake air charge so you have a better combustion meaning you can get more power for less throttle input and fuel consumption... so id say your BSFC has improved slightly. id say youd have to be moving Pretty fast to see positive manifold pressure w/ a ram air intake setup. plus, convincing the air to "ram" past your air filter is going to be challenging at best.
any track times?

As Levi brings his bad grammar and idiodic power claims form the Mazda section to the Toyota section ..

even on planes like the Lear Jet 25R or the Citation that haul ass around 500 or so mph, you only get about 25-40 lbs MAX of positive pressure to help work the instruments and vaccum system, it is consideribally lower when not at cruising speed..
