most likely not... your best bet is to leave your solara stock and attempt to get another vehicle to race...

Some likely cheap 12 second ideas include. (with toyota first since this is a toyota forum)

3rd generation turbo supra (lots of help to be found on this board)
1985-1987 Toyota Corrola GT-S
AW11 mr2 (first gen)
Third gen RX-7
Honda CRX or Honda Civic Hatchback (swapping it)
Nissan 240sx's of all years..

All of these provide a decent base for power. For around 8000 dollars, most of these cars would run siginifigantly faster than even 15 K dropped into your solara...

the 4cyl solara comes with a 5s-fe, 3s-gte parts are a bolt on for it, also the 3s-gte is a bolt in motor for it. nothing that hasent been done many times in mr2's for a pimp sleeper the salara is a nice platform. im supprised it hasent been worked before.

That Salora is a heavy biatch for its size. And the Tq needed to get that much weight moving about town is way up in the rpm range with peak in the mid 4's(i think). It doesn't seem like the ideal match, but would look quite nice to see done. Just my thoughts and thoery though.

after thought--a nice combo would be the camry v6 with a decent amount of low down grunt. Now just add a well matched turbo to help excentuate the nice flat Tq curve all the while adding the Hp push we all love at the top.

I think it would possibly be cheaper to trade your solara in and get the V6 version. It would be a lot less hassle too.

If you also wanted to you could get the TRD Supercharger kit with that.

dont even bother with any solara.. v6 or otherwise.. Keep the daily driver just that.. daily driven and reliable.. Racing a seperate car saves a lot of hassle if something goes wrong... Also lets you take a brake 1/2 way if you or your wallet are tired of it....

This is not even mentioning how bad of a platform a solara is for any kind of racing.............
