I haven't been on TampaRacing in the last few years except a few times to see if anything has changed.

I was one of the head admins on TR that was eliminated. In fact, I was the head admin and ran the backside of the site. I know we had some turmoil between admins and other bs going on. And, I went graciously off and didn't do anything that would get me banned off. I never did anything negative towards TR or IB. I actually built the layout that we used the last year before IB and the first year of IB. I worked well with IB Rob, who was replaced by IB Tim when he took another job. I also built and worked on a few other car based forum sites. If you look around TR, I was a core member and hand my hand on every aspect of what TR was and why IB bought TR.

I was also one of the people that setup TR Events, I was one of TR's photographers & I ran 2 different car clubs that resided on TR ( Honda EF Old Skool Club & Acura DA Old Skool Club ). I was also a vendor that ran the CRX & Civic Parts Depot. I was pretty much all over the site and everyone one TR knew me and nobody had anything negative to say, as I treated everyone with respect and always sought to handle things peacefully and calmly.

Does IB have any interest in TR returning to the busy site that it originally purchased? Or, are they happy with the numbers that it is producing like a web-bot over-run forum?
I have always had a passion for cars & this site was pretty big in it's day.
I maintained a lot of friendships with users, Mods & Admins and we are all still online and very interested in the outcome of TR. Aahron & Zate, built TR originally, but with the help of many Mods and a few Admins that knew our way around site building and peace-keeping.

Would, you or IB be interested in TR building up a following again?

I only ask, because I am still interested in making TR work again. I am actually a very busy person, but I enjoyed the site tremendously and I think it is still a viable site.

I am willing to volunteer my time and bring back a lot of users. I bet I can beat TR's last years numbers by my 2nd month. And, it'll only grow again from there.

What would this take?
1. Me being returned to Full Admin with the ability to adjust the site to benefit the users, while not hurting the business of IB.
2. Me being able to bring back any users & TR staff that I feel would be beneficial to the site.
3. Unfortunately, we would have to figure out what to do with Bob (Senor Honda) as we had to back before IB took over. I was actually friends with Bob and invited him to many events and tried to help him fit in. For some reason, he seems to take on head to head any user that he disagrees with and it was never helpful to the site, the users or the traffic. He is good at adding content, but when the site was running at full speed, his numbers didn't really matter. He has over 56,000 post, but basically because he spamming TR over and over.

People still talk about TR and they miss the old ways. I think we could make it a good site again. It just needs the people that made it great able to make it great again.

OK. I will respond. I don't mind that you consider my responding as taking you on head to head.
As far as figuring out what to do with Bob, ......

Here's a bit of background:
REY had claimed to be the head admin which you are now claiming.
When REY and a few buttheads left TR, to start their own site Tee Cee SSS, they placed links all over the TR site referring TR members to their butthead site,

I hunted down most of those links and eliminated them.
I eliminated the language that TR's national sponsors found objectionable when posted next to their paid advertising.
The people who tried to destroy Tampa Racing, by cussing and pasting their butthead car site links, were also eliminated.

The jerks also tossed in some bad advice: They suggested that Senor Honda stop posting on TR.
I believe it to be bad advice, because when their own butthead car site members quit posting,........... their butthead site died.

It's true. I post content which hundreds of readers come to Tampa Racing to read every night.
Some of my posts have thousands of viewers.
If you consider that as spamming TR, I don't object that you think that.

Instead of handing TR over to you in return for the PROMISE of "building up the site", (with an implied elimination of Senor Honda)
how about you build up TR FIRST, and prove yourself worthy of being a member in good standing?

There have been several people who came to TR and said "just get rid of Senor Honda, and everything will be ok".
They said: "Hand TR over to me and everything will go back to the way it was". They promised the same things
that you just did. Helping TR was not their true motivation. They just wanted to start eliminating Tampa Racing content.
I challenged them to outpost me and do a better job....

OR,... OR,.... or to build their own site and show us their qualifications.
Every one of those people only wanted to get their hands on TR, eliminate content which they did not like,
eliminate a person they did not like, and eventually eliminate TR.

They NEVER did anything to help TR, and some ran away faster than others.
They never came back even once to tell me of the success of the site which they said they would create.

Please understand that the car scene has changed. Tampa Racing has changed with it.
Your definition of "making it work" no longer fits. It was the same definition other people used.

Yes I do post a defense when someone comes to Tampa Racing with something which is untrue or which I believe is detrimental
to Tampa Racing. I don't object that someone calls that going head to head with someone I disagree with.

If we look at numbers, TR continues to have hundreds of people reading on the site at one time.
The butthead site had a maximum of 90 at one time.....in their early months. I never told them how to run their car site.
Their numbers reflect their knowledge.

Since I became the primary poster on TR there have been 6,466 members join TampaRacing.com for a total of 108,165 as of 15 FEB 2019.
Those numbers may be "his numbers that didn't really matter". I don't object that you think that the numbers don't matter.

Morty, I've driven by your former pawn shop business several times since it went under, so I don't doubt that you have some time.
Will you begin building the TampaRacing.com site, and show us what you can do, or will your reply be to continue criticising Senor Honda?

For a person who is not a frequent reader of TampaRacing.com......
June of 2015 was after the buttheads had left TampaRacing.com to form their own car site, where they proceeded
to flush themselves down their own toilet. Their butthead site died long ago when they took their own advice.
The buttheads had told me to stop posting and TR would grow. I don't accept advice from people who promote failure.
And when the butthead site quit posting, the butthead site died.....even though REY had paid
for another year, no one ever posted again.

TampaRacing.com had acquired 583 NEW members by June 2015............... and today?
It's on the home page where anyone can read it for themselves:
6,466 members joined TampaRacing.com for a total of 108,165 as of 15 FEB 2019.

No one is required to post anything on TampaRacing.com.
but several thousand people have become TampaRacing.com members.

What's been going on around here?

People change. The car scene changes.
17 year olds grow up, get legit jobs, chick gets pregnant, have some kids, buy a house.......
sell the Honda...... lol

The guys who brought me Hondas to fix got respected by me back then,
and now they bring me Mercedes, BMW, SRT's

This year at Simply Clean there were 2500 cars packed into 1,000 legit spaces
.....and a few on the grass.... lol


The guys who drove Hondas years ago got real jobs, a family, a house and now drive expensive and highly modded cars. But after Simply Clean when the cop cars and helicopter showed up at Donny's (around 8 minutes 30 sec, maybe 10 minutes)

And again:
Donnies Donuts at 12 minutes. Blue lights courtesy of the 6 cop cars.... 2 helicopters ....priceless....

.....where a gazillion people were watching the burnouts, it looked about the same as when we watched burnouts back in downtown Orlando years ago

....just before the cops kicked us out.

Philosophically,
1.The kids driving Today's Hondas are us.....parents didn't like our haircuts, our music, our cars, our attitude, etc.....
2.Everyone says the car scene is not like it used to be.
3.You can't go back there anymore......because there isn't there any more.

But.....
Go to Belaire Plaza for the Turkey Rod Run where the retirees are doing burnouts...in the car they always wanted back in high school.......that's us too.
But not everyone knows that........ yet... (wink)
