Headers WRX?

Headers WRX?

Hi,

How come with for example the Nissan Silvia, it doesnt have "headers" it has an exhaust manifold. But with the WRX it has Headers? I thought turbos didnt have headers.

It is just another phrase used to describe the exhaust manifold, header, or extractor.....take your pick. Most people will refer to the stock equipment as a manifold and aftermarket, individual runners as headers.

could also be because on cars with two banks of cylinders they are referred to as "headers" and on cars with say an inline 6 or 4 its exaust manifold.. the WRX has two banks of cylinders...

True, but people will stil refer to their "header" on an inline 4 for example.

Are those headers good? They seem like a good deal. Better to do header upgrade before or after turbo upgrade? How much will it net hp-wise on stock turbo, with FMIC, boosting 18psi.
