HELP!!! 2004 STI loud clunking in gear only while deceleration
Alright. i have done
numerous research and tried looking for something similar and need help. So I
got my wheel bearing replaced not that long ago and everything seemed fine. Well
one day I was reversing out of a parking lot and heard a clunking noise coming
from the front driver side wheel, which was the one that they replaced the wheel bearing. I check the axle and the endlinks and everything is nice and tight. The noise started doing it when the car warms up, whether I'm in gear or just coasting, but only in slow speeds. I've done figure 8's and it doesn't do it any more while turning. I did find out I had a bad ABS sensor. It's the same side that the wheel bearing was replaced (Drivers side)
Today I was driving and let go of the accelerator while in gear. The gears sounded loud than normal and heard the clunk, this time it sounded like it was from the transfer case. So I downshifted and the gears were still the same and I can hear it and feel it on my shifter too. The sound is really pissing me off though. Now when stopping and I put it into neutral I can hear and feel the clunking while going about 5mph or less. Feel it after one complete rotation of the tire. If I'm going over that and put it in neutral I dont hear nor feel it. When I reverse it's like if the wheel was hesitating, someone locks and hear the loud clunking. Can anyone help me figure this out!?! I replaced the endlink and it's still thee!. Could it be because of the abs sensor or bad diff (hope not )
Here's a video on it.
