Welding the center diff

I have a 05 wrx and my center diff just blew out. I was thinking about welding it back together for a permanant 50/50 split. Just looking for advice about possible hazards that might occure.

Welding the center diff will make your car RWD. And doing so without any diff/axles upgrades will make them go out eventually.

i figured welding the center diff would lock both wheel into permanant drive and you would just remove the front prop shafts to make it rwd. so couldnt i weld it then remove the front props untill I can afford another diff
?

damn people. If you cant afford to fix a car when it breaks then dont buy it. go back to honda.

If you weld it, you would only get power to the rear wheels. So in the long run you would be spending more than just replacing the center diff, but possibly the rear diff and rear axles along with anything else that goes with it when those go out.

So why didn't you fix your WRX.... Speaking of can't afford, didn't daddy's money build that thing anyways?

Give him a break he doesn't know any better and came to us first. To come on to a Subaru forum for help and advice just to get asinine comments like that (especially from you) makes us seem like SRT-4 owners.
