Give him a break he doesn't know any better and came to us first. To come on to a Subaru forum for help and advice just to get asinine comments like that (especially from you) makes us seem like SRT-4 owners.

+1. I love how non subaru owners come in here bashing the newbies.Ok u used to have a Subaru until it became bbq! If you weld the center diff it will make the car rwd. You have to also take the front axles out for it to work properly. If you are wanting to go RWD then there is a company that sells a locked diff. As mentioned above, the rear drivetrain is not designed to take the extra power etc , so unless you want the temp fix to cost more then the original fix then I personally wouldnt do it.
