Your best bet would probably be to buy a EJ20 and tranny to swap. If there is anywhere to find information on such a project, it would be NASIOC.com.

Good luck, I love to see older turbo imprezas.

Honestly the best thing to do would be buy a wrecked/rolled WRX or STi and swap EVERYTHING - driveline, wiring harnes, dash, ecu, etc.

Most common would be the wrx drivetrain and engine. It would also be fun!! Keep us updated.

First question i have is!!!!!

How are you going to convert this to AWD?

Im not familiar with the front wheel drive subys but this is going to cost you more money to convert. id just buy a WRX if i was you.

you know Subaru's are like lego's right? any motor from any suby will pretty much bolt right into any other suby. I'd be willing to bet he's got plugs covering threads where the rear diff and driveshaft bolt in, all ready to be filled.

OP, do what Scott said and find yourself a wrecked WRX/STI. It'll take forever and cost you alot more if you try to piece it all together one at a time.
