the idea is that there is hot engine coolant flowing through the throttle body, and seeing as we live in florida and don't need the hot air to be warmed by an already hot TB, especially when you're spending all that money on intercoolers and what not

the reason subaru does this is to prevent iceing of the throttle body, but i don't think we need to worry about that here in Tampa Bay

its also an emissions thing, very similar to the TGVs, has an effect for cold weather but is put there because of emissions.

it's pretty standered on most TB cars from 1980's on up it's not a big HP mod but all the engine's I'v built over the years, 90% of the time iv gotten rid of the TB coolant line it help's a bit after the car is at running temp, it's not making the air as hot as it passes through the TB by a few deg. but still a mod non the less and every bit help's and yes it's on the SR TB as well hope this help's a bit

it's a good free mod to do. Just reminded me... I gotta go do that to the Project Tibby!

I believe it's there so the TB intake blade assembly doesn't get iced in extreme cold.

also you don't need anything additonal to do this on the turbo EJ's just remove one hose and reroute the other one and reclamp. I dunno about the N/A setup
