Default Broken Tranny = (

On the way to work, just shifted into 3rd and it sounded like it poped out of gear, went to put it back in and it would grind really bad, then i heard the peices of the gears rattleing around inside as i was rolling. Where in the tampa area can i have my car repaired at? I had someone put in my clutch a couple months ago and that was a PIA so i dont want to go back to that guy. Any suggestions? Thanks..

Yes thought about that, but then thought about the cost.. i am hoping to find a good local tranny shop to maybe do a core swap.. I dont blow any holes in the tranny or anything, seems like the syncro broke actually.. Right now is a bad time money wise also..

Buy a used one and rebuild the one you have. Check Nasioc to see what they have and if you can get one shipped. They really are not that hard to install, initially just time consuming. Check out this website.

You can pretty much find any instruction manual. In the mean time, hope you have a beater.

I second this. You might even be able to make some cash off of the deal...

hmm by the way heres an odd hint of info you guys prolly never thought of. Did you know that resting your hand on the shifter while driving causes the gears to turn to absolute shit? Say your are weighs like 10 - 15 pounds or so...you rest that weight on the shifter which in turn pushes down onto the shifter its self, which puts more strain onto the fork and it physically pushes the gears down hard to the point where they fuck up the bearsings and shims, which in turn get stuck into your gears.

Also! you putting a clutch in probably caused the tranny to blow. It puts more stress on your transmission. Should have put PPG or at least RA gears in. What kind of clutch did you get put on. How reliable was your installer...?
