Default HOLY BATSTufF BATMAN!

yeah. thats what was going through my mind about 5 o'clock today in sarasota off of fruitville. I'm going to chick-fil-a to get a bite to eat before class, when i'm sittin at the light about to make a left hand turn. the light turns, the people in front of me let off their brakes and i go ahead and start easing the gas.

I've been driving pretty softly since i started my new job which requires me to drive from house to house all over pinellas and hillsborough counties. Now when i ease the gas in, nothing happens. I mean nothing, in fact the rpms actually dropped and the car felt like it was trying to stall on me. I instantly checked to make sure the car wasn't overheating, had the nightmare or headgaskets already. nope. so i give it more gas, hoping that might make something "catch" or whatnot. well it starts actling like its really going to stall, so i floor it because it kinda responded a little. I'm doing 2 mph at this point, and finally something does catch, nothing audible or something i could feel, but the car finally started moving under power but has been acting weird since

The check engine light is on, and i've got an apointment tomorrow morning with Beiler's Automotive( AWESOME mechanics) but was wondering if anybody had a clue as to what the fuck was going on with my car

btw, its a 99 legacy 2.5gt 4eat

Ouch sorry to hear that. In my case it was internal engine failure..ie: rod bearing but it was knocking like a woodpecker , and I couldn't go more than 20-30mph towards the end of the damage.
Tranny problems suck ass too cause it ain't cheap to fix or replace.

Hope it all works out for you though!

P.S. if it is tranny problems and you end up getting another car..go with a Legacy or an STi..I say that since all of us WRX guys always have tranny problems in the back of our minds...since it is one of the weaker parts of the car on a WRX...however...not too sure about the newer WRX's.

only reason i thought it was the tranny was because i thought it hadn't had a fluid flush since i bought it, but forgot that i did it when i had the head gaskets changed and again not too long ago

but anywho... just checkin though, they are charging me 180 or so for a refab'd MAF, or a new one would cost 400???

i mean i trust these guys at Beiler's, they have been better than good to me in the past, but i gotta check and make sure that sounds right. looking on ebay i can find one considerably cheaper, but they are all used and i don't like to run my car on faith, i'd rather pay the extra 100 bucks for reliability and quality.
