:-o THATS MY FACE ..when my father in law showed me the receipt he brought back from mastro subaru today!!! OK basically make long story short ive posted up here a few times how my in laws 98 Legacy GT AUTO w/ 117K miles overheated a couple times. Thinhs that were replaced in the last 3 -5 months are: head gaskets, water pump, thermostat, radiator, radiator cap, Tune-up, engine flush, coolant flush..The car was running perfect before it begain overheating. after replacing most of these parts here and there, it ran better not the same but better and the main problem is the coolant keeps evaporating, dont know where from.. NOW yesterday it overheated and got stuck on 275 SOUTH right by downtown tampa.. SO they brough it to mastro today and they said they need a new longblock as it is leaking from the head gaskets. Do these look about right for a EJ25???? DOes anyone round here have a motor for sale??

why would you need a new long block for bad head gaskets?

thats exactly wat i said wen she called my gurl and she called me..i said :-o $5,000!!!!! SHYT for that throw a WRX up in there, f*ck the stock EJ25...they pretty much couldnt explain it cause my father said the same shyt why a whole block if its head gaskets which were replaced about 3 months ago..they told him they cannot garantee the work so it would be $3000 to replace head gaskets....so right now were looking for another motor cause thats just way too much, for that much she might as well throw it as DP for a new one. but if theres any SUBY MECHS willing to come look at it and work something out let me know
