Toyo Proxes 4 are nice combo for ride, grip and low noise. Had them on for a while before switching to something more agressive (Falken Azenis Sport).

Kaufman Tire carries Toyo's and can be had pretty cheap too!

Get the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (PS2). They are extremely quiet, and you'll get the best performance short of R compound tires. The only downside is the cost.

Yokohama AVS ES100... Soft tires but I am 100% happy with them.

you want quiet tires eh? i got some azenis st-115's & they are nearly noiseless, it's like riding on air they're definately not as grippy as what comes on sti's but they're still a summer tire & have a decent amount of grip. my 215/45/17's were about $90/tire. i've had the yoko es100's & the st115's are better. the st115 is impressive in the rain!

I just got a brand new set of Dunlop FM901's. 205/45/16....surprisingly grippy when dry and are supposed to last a bit. Everything, mounting, balancing, disposal, etc was $373 from Sam's Club. The stock tire size was the same price if you dont want the low pro's.

On the noise factor....these tires are very quiet IMO. I had the Nitto 555's on before and they were soooooooo loud. It was lame as hell. Almost everyone who reviewed these tires on some sites I looked at kept saying they were loud, but I have only noticed how not loud they are, lol.
