Default Anyone up for an install?

I've got a GReddy catch can and Omori oil pressure gauge sitting around, waiting to be installed. Anyone know of a lift I could "borrow" for a while? I can bring beer or throw someone a few bucks if they're interested. To be honest, I'm not even sure how to hook up the catch can to my FMIC with the included hoses (short).

a catch can, hooked up to your FMIC? how so? do you mean youre just gnona mount it to the fmic or what?

is that oil pressure guage mechanical or electrical?

im not sure who has a lift that you can use... my neighbor's dad has a shop, but we had to pay 350 for the first day, 6am-3pm and 100 for the second day 6am-6pm... im not sure if hes up for letting out his lift again, since he doesnt make the final call... plus their insurance policy doesnt cover non-employee's, should anything happen to you.

you don't want to use the hoses it comes with any way they are the clear hoses with the cross stiching right you can go to advance auto parts and buy the black hose in any length thats how i did mine
do you need a lift for the oil press. gauge?

Oil pressure gauge is electric (Omori). I need the lift to put in an oil filter sandwich adapter on the car. I could do it with the car on jackstands, but was hoping to find someone with a lift so that I wouldn't have to crawl around on my back.

I'm showing a bit of newbiness, as I haven't ever put a catch can(or oil pressure sensor, for that matter) in anything before, let alone a car with the FMIC, hence the "To be honest, I'm not even sure how to hook up the catch can to my FMIC with the included hoses (short)" . I forgot to check out Ryan's car the last time it was around and somehow forgot to talk to Alan about when I was at Mastro this morning. Fucking ADD! Maybe I should have stuck with NA cars.

The install goes sort of like this Defi sandwich adapter hook up:
http://www.defi-shop.com/product/dl/...ter_inst.htm#6

You attach the oil pressure sender to the sandwich instead of tapping the factory hook ups on top of the block.

There is a pretty good write up on the install here: http://www.doink.net/gallery/index.p...-cool_mod.html I have a purpose built sandwich adapter, so no need to mod up my own. The bit about pressure and temp senders still applies.

oh, sandwiich adaptor... damn, things have come a long ways since i was in scoobies... before, you either use the stock pressure sending source w/ the aftermarket sending unit... or just wire it into the stock unit...

if thats all you have to do in order to hook up the sending unit for your pressure guage... itll be a breeze. the hardest part will either be mounting the guage or running the wires... but for that, you wnot be on the ground, on your back, under the car.

your catch can: that Theorhetically should be a breeze. i know on my supra and the DSM you just reroute the lines from the PCV to the catch can... the biggest problem would be to find a vacant area in the engine bay to mount it. but, i dont know if this catch can has a provision to install the air intake source, but i doubt it... it probalby has one nipple right? dude, thatll be a breeze to hook up... fo rizzle

I thought the wires had already been run, as Allan had to abort the install due to a faulty sandwich adapter. Had a look around under the hood and can't find any leads headed toward the oil filter area...checking with Mastro to see if they still have my stuff, as I did not find any of the Omori hardware in my box of scraps.

Finding a place in the engine bay should not be a big problem. I've got plenty of room now that the factory airbox and intercooler are out of there. Have a bracket as well, just need to get my lazy arse over to an auto shop to pick up the hosing.

Ryan - Do you have a digi-cam? Any chance you could take some shots of your catch can install and hosing layout for me? Would be much appreciated brudda.

No need for the drain plug sensor, I have a sandwich adapter to make life a little easier. Need to make sure Mastro gave me all my sensor hardware back, then I'll be looking to get both of these items installed...finally.
