I didn't like the Noble M12 all that much. Looks like a spacecraft of some sort. One other thing that i didn't like is he came out with this beast that said "noble drift" right on the side when his drifts were anything but noble. Maybe he'll show up with something new next time or he might give the whatchamacallit another shot.

i dunno how many know this but i was told late in the day
the guy that drove that SICK black 240 with the turbo KA, that was tearing the shit to hell and back was the guy driving the noble, but he isnt the driver for that car, the cars driver wasnt there so they wanted to show it off, you could see and hear the same techniques that the guy used EXCELLENTLY in the 240 that dont work with MR 6cyl twin turbo cars.... the man has mad skill but obviously, not in that car....

Hello guys! I'm new to this forum, and to Florida, Ft Walton beach (lived in Atlanta for the past 5 years). Figured I should introduce myself and help clear things up.

My name's Tony Schulz and I drive the black S14 with the turbo KA and Dunlop decals... many of you will/might have recognized it from the NOPI Nats exhibition and the USDrift/Hyperfest competitions.

I'm also the driver for NOBLE Drift... though 3 people drove the car yesterday. We also let Jay (driver of the BMW jade S13) try out the M12 too, he actually did most the driving in it. The... uh... cone punting and "scare the shit out of the photographer" driving... I won't mention who it was but he's not used to drifting or the like.

I assure you (as Jay can attest), the spinning of the M12 was not the drivers, or the power, or even the MR layout... it's the severely limited steering geometry. It has about 20degrees less than a stock 240 and requires 3-point turns in spaces suitible for most cars to U-turn. I knew that coming into the event, but figured we'd play with the car anyway and still had to prove it wouldn't work to the team owner. We plan to fix that obviously, and keep in mind, yesterday was it's first event EVER. I think we now have ~450 miles on the car. :o

Thanks to everybody that came out and helped make it such a fun event. I was very impressed by the quality of the drifting there too... did not expect that from the Tampa area. NICE! Special thanks to Secret Services and DG Trials for making the event happen, in particular mattback and Eric respectively.

I have some video on my camera, but the fact we need to develope/prepare the M12 for this season and my lack of a firewire port, means it could be a while before it's online.

-Tony

yeah for the money i think i could have found 50 more drift sutable cars. evendently the owner doesn't know anything about cars and or drifting. just knows that he paid alot of money for a car and it should do everything. looks cool and handle's well but they're tring to make it do something it wasn't meant to do.

p.s. thats not the way it works

well see...they tried to make an auto-x car drift...its really a great car, and that was an awesome driver, but its not meant to do that...if he would have just taken a full speed lap, im sure we all would have been amazed!

I can see where you are coming from, but look at it this way:

Was a hachi or S13-15 meant to drift... or even run on a track for that matter?

It will be eisier to fix the steering issues on the M12 (and balast if needed), than it is to make a hachi into a professional level drift car.

Your statement applies more to the majority of drift cars out there... but people still find a way to make it work. The only difference is the initial cost of the car, which really shouldn't matter to others.

The noble is practically a purpose built road race vehicle... It is at home on winding circuts and english B roads..

As for being easier to fix the steering issues.. Surely its technically simpler and money cheaper.. But for the cost of the noble alone you could of outfitted an entire team of S13's....

This however isnt to say the noble isnt a badass car. I also applaud nobles realization that drift is going to be the new hip way to advertise...

How did he not know anything bout the car? He was explaining things about it while I was standing around by it in the lot.
