well richness has nothing to do with gap but it sounds like your getting a really waek spark .80 is way off tho, .30ish range is stock.(i dont rember) the more boost you are running the closer the gap needs to be or a better coil is needed.

last time i had to mess with an mr2 gap, .25ish range was where it worked best. this was on a stock coil with many thousands of miles and 19psi
