Alot of stroker kits place the ring package higher up on the piston so a somewhat longer rod can be used and the rod stroke ratio won't go to complete shit. The problem then becomes a very weak ring package for a turbo motor. There are ways to arrange the ring package to still have a nice fat land between the compression rings but your oil rings are going to be "in the hole" which will lead to oil control problems. Rod stroke definitely isn't everything but I wouldn't want it to run below 1.5:1 on any motor of mine.
