and i'm such an avid supporter of the sr because it doesn't need the extra displacement to make power. it can be reliable for a daily driver, light weight to throw around in the twisties, and oh my god power up top.
spun bearings/??? maybe you forgot to check your oil pickup or run a good oil filter.
the whole sr's spin bearings thing, hell, even i thought that back in the day, has to do with starving the motor of oil, which will happen if the pickup or oil pan is dented.
correctly done sr's will fail more often because of valvetrain issues. dont go from 3rd to 2nd at WOT redline and that won't happen. (glenn / scott / brett among others)
