Kris,

IMO.
If you launch on factory honda axles past 4000 rpms & the track is prepped & you do it more then 2-3 times in a row there is a 90% chance you will have axle issues.

Why is this my opinion ?
I have known 3 people that have broken factory axles on STREET tires at desoto w/ all motor applications putting down around 200 whp including my self.

I broke my drivers side axle my 1st time running my car at Sunshine speed way. This was on one of 10 runs or so (it was dead).

Second time I broke my Pass side axle was this thursday at desoto. These were BRAND NEW napa factory replacement axles with a lifetime warrenty. I had ran these axles in my Black Hatch w/ a b18b & spray on drag radials w/ no problems. (I launched at about 2k w/ my b18b because of my nitrous application).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Complete story about desoto this Thurs.
I posted on a small forum:

Well the night started out with Zack & His g/f Jessica meeting up with me to go to the track. We grabbed some food & dropped some kids off at the pool.

We get to the track.
Zack makes some passes & has launching issues etc. :-/

I hop in my car and get in line.
Make a pass of 13.9 for my 1st run, not bad I was expecting 14.0's
Next run, 13.9 again.
I was like hmmm lets see what I can do here

So next run I put my napa axles to the test har har lifetime warrenty right ? lol (I launched it like a champ)

Not bad for being on street tires made in Slovensky.

Something told me not to make that last pass, I was very close to pulling out of line before making the pass & just calling it a night.
When I finished my pass my wheels were wobbling like a champ.. and the car was pulling, I thought to my self, shit I fuxored my axle or my tire pressure is too low...

So me & Zack put our tire air pressure back to normal for the long haul home.

Everything was fine until I got on it on 75 before the skyway... the car was shaking like a champ, I procceeded to pull over & noticed nothing bad. So I tried again, same result.
I ended up figuring out my cv joint was shot to hell & the car stopped responding to acceleration all together.

Finally a tow truck shows up after Zack lets me call AAA using his card (YOU KICK ASS )
Take note it took 2 1/2 hours to get this truck.
The guy shows up & he is sounding/smelling drunk... I was like hmm ok who cares.
I hooked up my car to the flat bed after taking my front bumper off & the tow truck guy just chilled lol.

Btw: On the way home we had to stop for him to take a leak bahahaa.

I would like to thank Zack & His g/f Jessica a TON for hanging out w/ me & letting the tow truck follow us to my house.

I personally think my drag racing days are done until I get a trailer & a truck lol.
I wont be able to go to the track and launch at weak numbers & run shitty et's, it just isnt me.
I may consider pursuing AutoX or Just road racing alone. We will see what happens

All I can tell you is have tools to take your front bumper off.
Have your AAA card ready.
Or you can just cary spare axles & all the tools to change them

IMO its not worth launching like a pussy, why go to the strip if you are worried about breaking shit

So go all out & have fun, I hope you have a good time & don't break anything.
