Well, if that compressor wheel is moving 300hp worth of air at 15psi, but your motor is only making 250hp, that extra air will take the path of least resistance, which is back out the turbo. This will cause a low pitched whistling sound and may cause the car to surge as the air is moving backwards through the VAM.
