Won Pikes Peak twice, podiumed at Sebring, this Porsche 718 RS 61

Pikes Peak. Sebring. Two storied motorsport events, although albeit two different disciplines. Back in the 1960s, that didn’t matter. One car could conquer both, and this Porsche 718 RS 61 almost did that, winning Pikes Peak twice and podiuming at Sebring.



With Bob Donner behind the wheel, this Porsche won at Pikes Peak overall in 1961. Then he repeated the feat in 1962.



Donner initially debuted the car during the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1961. He shared the seat with Don Sesslar and Ernie Erickson, and the trio drove the Porsche to a second-place finish in their class and seventh overall.
