Want to make a splash in motorsport? Win in your debut. That’s what the longtail form of this McLaren F1 GTR did in 1997 at Silverstone. It’s the stuff that makes legends, and now you, too, can make a splash by acquiring this McLaren icon.
The team that first owned it, Parabolica Motorsports, loaned it to Team Lark McLaren for the 1997 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. While it qualified 16th overall at Circuit de la Sarthe, an accident in the seventh hour of the event ended its race early.
Today, the McLaren now only wears those Lark colors, but also retains its original, numbers-matching, Type-S70/3 BMW V12 engine.
Find this 1997 McLaren F1 GTR for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $18,000,000-$21,000,000.
