Main Street Was Never the Same – August 9 Car Show Recap

A Day That Changed Downtown Las Cruces

On August 9, 2025, Pharmtrue helped host a car show that turned Main Street into a rolling museum of horsepower, culture, and community. From lowriders to classics, race builds to bikes, the streets came alive with chrome, color, and connection.

Yes, it was our first show. Yes, it was chaotic. But it was also unforgettable.

Despite early hiccups—barriers not set up on time, check-in confusion, and traffic flow challenges—our drivers showed up with patience and pride. Our vendors brought flavor and flair. Our volunteers hustled. And the public responded with overwhelming support.

Highlights:

• Over 300 cars staged across downtown
• Thousands of attendees
• $2,250 raised for Big Brothers Big Sisters
• Many animals adopted through Rebel Angel All Breed Animal Rescue
• Food trucks and vendors awarded for excellence in tacos, BBQ, drinks, and more

• Best Use of Local Ingredients & Best Presentation: Chilakilex
• Best Borderland Dessert: Fefe Coffee & More
• Best Use of Green Chile: Sizzlin Spice
• Best Borderland Burrito: La Bandita
• Best Borderland Drink: Fizz N Cream Co
• Best Borderland Comfort Food: Mad St BBQ
• Best Borderland Side Dish & Best Borderland BBQ: Rusty Roots BBQ

Lessons Learned:

• We need better check-in systems (and we’re building them)
• We need clearer traffic control (and we’re coordinating earlier)
• We need more shade, water, and hype (and we’re investing in all three)

What’s Next: We’re helping elevate the Donate Life Car Show on October 18 at Young Park. This event is a chance to restore pride in the car community after last year’s tragedy—and we’re going all in.

  Save the Date. Our 36th annual Rendezvous will be held in Farmington, New Mexico on the last weekend of September.
  It's a weekend rally where we get together with both old and new friends, for three days of dining and driving, sight seeing, a car show, and overall British car camaraderie. The BAOA is a bunch of British car enthusiasts in New Mexico. Most of us are from the Albuquerque area, but a lot of us are from Farmington, Las Cruces, and Santa Fe. And even a few from Colorado, Arizona, and Texas. So no matter where you live in the Southwest, our club is open to owners of all marques of British motorcar.
  Ownership of a British car is not required for membership, but the love of British vehicles and kindness toward their owners is essential.
  You don't have to be a BAOA member to attend - all British car aficionados are welcome.
  We are still in the planning phase, so check back here in the Spring of 2026 for all the details.
